LAYA is an online media publication run by student journalists from the College of Media and Communication at the University of the Philippines Diliman, utilizing the human rights lens in its daily reportage.
Driven by a commitment to justice, the publication is dedicated to telling stories that shed light on the current state of human rights across communities, institutions, and everyday life. It seeks to give a voice to the voiceless, challenge power structures, and uncover truths that remain buried.
Aiming to broaden public understanding and inspire meaningful dialogue through shared advocacy, LAYA champions the rights and dignity by reporting university-led protest actions, the rise and fall of a dictator, flood control scandals, and the uplifting of unsung heroes.
With every step—with every foot forward, we carry alongside the purpose, perseverance, and promise of the Filipino people.
Boses ng Bayan, Tinig ng Kalayaan.
